In 2009 I decided to attack the most “limiting” platform I could think of : the Atari 2600 from 1978!. With it’s atonal notation, slow CPU and bizarre waveforms – it just seemed like a fun machine.
Within the constraints of the 1978 architecture, and with some amazing groundwork I was able to draw on (see greets page) I was able to pull together some super fun and chunky tunes on the machine. I used ALL the 4kb cartridge memory for music rather than graphics / gameplay. And then I strapped the console to a guitar inspired setup so I didn’t loose all “the parts” which formed my setup. This became known as the gAtari 😉
